Geceye katılan Yılmaz Büyükerşen olayı gazetelerden duyduğunu belirtti ve ekledi: “Çok ilginç ama benim sadece o kedinin kurtarılması için kalabalık bir ekibin gayret göstermesi değil, ondan da önemlisi kedi oradan kurtarılıncaya kadar 20-25 dakika tramvay seferlerinin aksamasına karşılık, tramvaydakilerin hiçbirinden ses çıkmaması takdirle karşılanmalıdır. Bu Eskişehir halkının duyarlılığını gösteriyor. Vatman kızımızı da duyarlı davranışından dolayı kutluyorum.”

Cansu Deniz ise olayı şu şekilde dile getirdi: “Dört yıldır vatmanlık yapıyorum. Atatürk Bulvarı durağından çıktığımda yaralı bir kediyle karşılaştım. Kedinin arka bacaklarının tutmadığını gördüm. Aracı durdurdum. Bir vatandaş da kedinin tramvayın altına girmemesi için onu almaya çalıştı. Fakat kedi tramvayın altına girdi. İtfaiye gelinceye kadar vatandaşlarla çıkarmaya çalıştık olmadı. İtfaiye ekipleri uzun uğraşlar sonucu kedi yavrusunu kurtardı. Halkımız çok duyarlı davrandı. Eskişehir hayvan dostu bir kent. Ben de bu şehirde yaşayan bir kişi olarak insanca bir davranış sergiledim.”
