Başta söylememiz gerekir ki tüy dökümünün tamamen bitmesi gibi bir durum söz konusu değildir ancak azaltılması mümkündür. Köpeklerin tüy dökmesi cinsinden mamaya, mevsimden deri hastalıklarına kadar pek çok nedene bağlı olabilir. Bu noktada ilk olarak bir hastalığa bağlı olup olmadığını öğrenmek için köpeğinizi mutlaka veteriner hekiminize kontrol ettirmenizde fayda var. Köpek maması içeriği ve oranları nasıl olmalı?

Yavru ve yetişkin köpek mamaları arasındaki temel fark besin değerlerindeki oranlardır. Yavru köpekler daha hareketli oldukları için mamalarındaki besin değerleri daha yüksektir. Yetişkin köpekler bu enerjiyi yakamazsa kilo alımları artacaktır. Bu yüzden yetişkin köpeklerimize yavru köpek maması vermemeliyiz.

Yavru köpekler 12 aylık olana kadar gelişimini devam ettirdiğinden sindirimi kolay olan mamalar tercih edilmelidir. Aslında bu yetişkin köpekler için de dikkat edilmesi gereken bir konudur. En iyi köpek mamasını seçerken her iki evre için de dikkat edilmesi gereken içeriklere göz atalım:

  • İlk olarak mamanın et oranının yüksek olmasına dikkat edin. En az %30 et oranına sahip olmalı.
  • Mümkünse tahılsız mama tercih edilmeli çünkü tahıllı mamalarda glisemik oranı yüksek mısır ve pirinç hammaddeleri olabiliyor. Bu da obeziteye, şeker hastalıklarına sebep olurken ağız ve diş sağlığına da olumsuz etki edecektir. Tahıl yerine meyve veya sebze takviyeli olan köpek maması seçebilirsiniz.
  • Hayvansal ürünler – kümes hayvanı ve türevleri ya da kümes hayvanları unu şeklinde bilgiler yer alan köpek mamaları bilin ki gagadan kemiğe kadar öğütülmüş bölgelerin kibarca belirtilmesidir. Kesinlikle uzak duruyoruz!
  • Kalsiyum, Fosfor, Demir, Bakır, İyot gibi maddeler içermeli. Ham protein oranı da yüksek olmalı.
  • Gluten, köpekler için zararlı olduğundan glutensiz olmaksına dikkat etmelisiniz.
  • GDO’suz olmalı, renklendirici ve tanlandırıcı olmamalı.
  • Soyalı olmamasına çok dikkate edin çünkü dostlarımız için sindirim sisteminden hayati minerallerin emilimine ve kalp hastalıklarına kadar pek çok hastalığa neden oluyor.
  • Köpeğinizin cinsine, yaşına, kısır olmasına, aktif/oyuncu özelliklerine göre doğru mama tercihi yapmaya özen göstermelisiniz.
  • A, B1, D vitamin ve mineral takviyelerini de kontrol etmelisiniz.

Yetişkin köpek mamasına geçiş

Yavru köpekler anne sütü içerken ihtiyacı olan besinleri ve mineralleri anne sütünden alırlar. Minik dostumuz iki aylık olduktan sonra yavaş yavaş kuru köpek mamasına geçiş yapabilirsiniz. Köpeklerin dişleri bir buçuk, iki aylık olduktan sonra çıkmaya başladığı için bu sürelerden önce kuru mama kullanımı, ağız sağlıkları açısından dostlarımız için zararlı olabilir. Anne sütü yetersiz kaldığı durumlarda köpeğinizin henüz dişleri çıkmamış ise yavru köpekler için yaş mama takviyesi yapabilirsiniz.
