Bolu’nun Mudurnu İlçesi Ordular Köyü’nde gerçekleşen bu üzücü olayda kısa sürede ahşap evi saran alevlerden zihinsel engelli eşini ve yüzde 40 engelli olan oğlunu kurtaran Ali Meşe, gözü gibi baktığı kedilerden sadece Sarı Kız’ı kurtarabilmiş, yaşadığı büyük üzüntüyü ona sarılarak paylaşmıştı. Olayın ardından kaldırıldığı hastanede yaptığı açıklamayla hayvan sevgisini şöyle dile getirmişti:
“En sevdiğim küçük sarı bir kedim vardı. Onu alıp çıkabildim. Diğerlerini bulamadım. Galiba biri daha kurtulmuş yangından ama bir kedim yanmış. Sarı kedimi çok severdim. Onu kurtardığım için çok mutluyum. Ben yediğim yemeği bile birini kendim yer, birini kedilerime verirdim. Tavuklarım ve horozum vardı. Onlar da yanmış. Çok üzüldüm.”

Ali Dedemizin çok sevdiği kedisi Sarı Kız’la olan bağının trajik görüntüleri Türkiye’nin ardından dünyada da yayılmıştı. Ünlü Amerikalı komedyen ve oyuncu Ellen Degeneres’ın sunduğu The Ellen Show, Instagram hesabından bu yangından sonraki görüntüleri paylaşmış ve Ali Dedemizin kedisine olan sevgisi milyonlarca kişi tarafından görüntülenmişti.
